When is a sheet not a sheet? When it's a rug!

I have been wanting for a while to make a rag rug. We needed a new bathroom mat, and with some old sheets to hand, I set about it. I consulted a few online tutorials, from weaving to plaiting. All good, but I couldn't be arsed to make a frame, or bother with a waterproof backing, etc etc.

After a couple of attempts I found myself with a rounded shape, which refused to lay flat (I guess the tension was too tight). It was better suited as a costume which turned my hubby into a Doctor Who monster!

So I had a good old think about how to rectify the problem, and came back to my main crafty means - knitting! Got some 12mm needles, wound my 'yarn' into balls and here is the result...

Not a conventional rag-rug, it looks a bit crazy, but it is super-soft underfoot and machine washable.

Plus my hubby loves it!

Muswell Hill Market

Yesterday my sister and I did the Craft Fair at Muswell Hill Market.

It was great fun, though a blisteringly hot day! Very well attended and I must give special thanks to all our friends and family who turned up to support us!

Much appreciated.

Button bracelets

This weekend I've made some cute bracelets. Using recycled buttons, these are so easy to make and very popular with my friends!
